What's In My Bag: Bible Study Edition

My time with God is precious, and I understand the importance of being in His word. It's kind of like creating pottery. In order to keep the clay malleable, it must remain moist. When clay begins to dry, you have to add water to it to soften it again. Our hearts are the same way. The more exposure that we have to God, the more that our hearts become tender toward Him. At least, that's been my personal experience.

Being a mom of preschoolers, it gets difficult to spend time reading my bible, studying, praying, and journaling. It is something that I have to be intentional about. It took me a few years and a bit of tweaking before I came up with a system that works for me. This setup is simple and everything is together all in one place.

My Nightstand:

On top I keep out a current book (I try to read a few pages before bed). My Bible Study Bag is close by, either on the floor or on top of the nightstand as well. To the left of my nightstand, I usually keep a small tote that houses all the books I want to read or finish. (I try to read a couple of pages each day and usually finish one book every 2-3 weeks.)

My Bible Study Tote:

I love the portability that my bible study tote gives me! This setup allows me to go anywhere in the house or even out on the porch for my quiet time. Having everything in one spot allows me to utilize those quick, quiet moments when my kiddos are napping or playing together.

Main Pocket

- Life Application Study Bible

- Prayer Journal

- Current Bible Study Guide

- Journal

Side Pocket 1:

- Pens

- Highlighters

- White Out Stick

Side Pocket 2:

- Memory Verse Cards

Church Bag:

This bag stays stocked for church so that all I have to do is add my bible and I'm ready to go! I keep it stocked with highlighters, a few pens, my Sunday School lesson guide, and a notebook at all times. Then on Saturday Night or Sunday Morning when I prep for church, I transfer my bible into it.

All of my totes are from Thirty One Gifts, and are retired patterns/styles. The closest thing I could find to my bible study tote & book tote is the Zip-Top Utility Tote.

I hope this has been helpful!
