Four pokes later...

Health Update #29

Hi friends!

I just realized it has been two months since I dod my last #AHUS update. Things have been relatively still regarding my health, but today's been a good day, and I'll take all of those that I can get.

Today was bloodwork and epoetin shot day.

4 pokes later.... We got it all done!

My hemoglobin was 11.6 - praise the Lord my body made blood this month! That means my kidneys did a little something the the last few weeks.

My iron counts were on the low end of normal, so two iron infusions are on the calendar for the next 4 weeks. The kidney doctor prefers my oron be high because that helps my body work with the epoetin to make blood.

I got an email from the transplant clinic yesterday, and my patient coordinator said that their doctors may be able to work with me on the immunizations (since we know those trigger relapses of this disease), so getting on the list is still up in the air.

The kids have been referred for their genetic counseling which gives me a sense of relief - we will finally know in the next few months if they are carriers of the mutation and have a plan for them if they do.

Recently, someone shared with me that my testimony and faith walk had impacted them and they gave their heart to Jesus!

If that one soul was the reason the Lord allowed this in my... It was worth it all!

The Lord works all things for good! 💕

In Christ,

Kimberly
