Health Update #33
Hi friends! Welcome back!
Recently, I shared that my blood pressure had bottomed out, which caused me to nearly pass out and briefly lost my hearing. I just happend to have a doctor's appointment with my primary care physician on the Tuesday following that episode. He gave me a thorough check up and was just as puzzled as we were as to what could have caused it. He thinks it may be nothing, but also doesn't want to miss something, so he put me on a heart monitor for seven days. (I'll also have an echocardiogram in a few weeks.) It's been fairly uneventful since having it on. My blood pressure has been pretty low and required a minimal amount of medication to remain stable this week, so I am praising the Lord for that! The least amount of interventions my body requires, the better!
We get to remove the monitor and mail it back on Tuesday so we anticipate having results sometime next week.
I had my monthly poetin shot this past Friday, and we found out that my hemoglobin had dropped a couple of points within about a week or so since my last round of labs. Just as quickly as my body makes some blood, aHUS kills it off. My blood level had been staying relatively stable for the last little bit so hopefully that will come back up over the next few weeks.
We're still on pause with transplant discussions. Our insurance is changing in January to a new company, and we think their preferred provider is UNC or Duke so we are waiting for confirmation. That would essentially mean that all the testing and everything we've done at Baptist is now invalid and we start the process over.
I have consistently prayed that whether that is God's plan for me or not, that He will open or close doors. He continues to say "wait". So we are just holding until something changes and He tells us to go.
Our prayer is still for ultimate healing and that my kidneys will regain function. I'm trusting the Lord for wisdom and guidance as we continue to take every day one step at a time. God has refreshed and refocused my faith on Him, and that's the best place to be anyhow.

A Little Touch of Home
This week my parents came for a quick visit from Tennessee, and it was wonderful to have them here! I haven't seen them since early summer, and we had a great time while they were here. We don't get to see them nearly as much as we'd like, but we are so grateful when we all get the chance to get together. We got to go to our church's Fall Festival and they met a lot of our sweet church family, which they enjoyed.

The Plan for This Week
This coming week is relatively uneventful. There's not a whole lot on the family calendar, so we are thrilled to have a few relaxed days ahead. October was unusually busy, so the thought of slowing down a little bit is lovely!
The Lord has been teaching me so much in my time in the Word recently, and I can't wait for our next night of ladies bible study. We have been working our way through the book of Matthew since August, and we've all been learning and growing so much! God really is doing something wonderful in the lives of these ladies. My prayer for those attending is that just as much as we're all growing & learning, that it wouldn't stop there, but that God would grant us more opportunities to share about Him!
If you would like to know more, please visit the Faith Corner and check it out!
Thank you for dropping by and seeing what's been new with us! I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!
Be blessed,
