Book Review: The Magnolia Story
Hi Friends!
It's a SNOW DAY here in the south! Eeeek! I'm more of a spring/fall girl... not much for prolonged extreme heat or extreme cold, but when it hits, I can definitely find a way to entertain myself.
This weekend, that's just what I did! On Thursday, a friend of mine let me borrow a book that's been on my "to read" list for a while. It's The Magnolia Story by Chip & Joanna Gaines. You can read more about the Gaines' here.

I started reading on Friday afternoon, and by dinnertime was already halfway through it. I love books that grab your attention and reel you in, don't you? By Saturday morning, I had finished reading the book. A flood of emotions flowed through my veins as I read their story. Maybe it was the memories of days spent on my great Uncle Hobart's farm watching molasses being made? Maybe it was their humble beginnings {and continued humility} that resonated & reminded me so much of the way my grandparents lived and poured into my life. Maybe it was Chip's humor that reminded me of a few of my cousins. So many things in this book reminded me of parts of my life that have been simple, yet beautiful.
One of my favorite parts of the book is where Joanna shares her story about finding the best ways for her family to thrive... spoiler alert - it's not a pinterest perfect house. As she shared her journey to finding the answer to something that so many of us search for, I found it refreshing and encouraging. It's really not about the picture
If you are looking for a good read, I highly recommend this book! Grab a cup of coffee and your favorite cozy spot... you'll be there for a while!
