New In Christ

When I was a new mom my mentor, Mrs. C, encouraged me to pray for my children diligently. I remember vividly the day we sat in a small room at our church and her posing the question to a little group of us "if you aren't praying for your children, who will?"
Last night, one of my most ardent prayers for my kids was answered. June 21st is now one of the happiest days of my life! Last night, my sweet firecracker of a girl gave her life to Jesus!!!! I am overjoyed and so, so thankful. Last night I posted the following on my personal social media:
She is my miracle baby. My rainbow after the storm. I wasn't sure she'd ever get here and she's been a firecracker since she was born. From the time she was in the womb until now, I prayed that she would grow up to love Jesus and invite Him into her heart as early as God would convict her. I prayed silently for her on the way to church tonight that the seeds being planted would fall on good soil.
Tonight at VBS, I found out that she asked Jesus into her heart!!!! We are completely in awe and so happy for her! Lots of rejoicing going on!
UPDATE: when we got home I asked her to tell me all about it. She told me how she prayed and she said her "belly was shaking" and her "heart was beeping really fast".
I am overjoyed for this answered prayer. I wasn't even sure I would ever event become a mom, and to see my top prayer for this miracle child be answered is just... I don't even know how to put it into words. I am bursting with a grateful heart for God's provision, grace, and mercy.
I am grateful for my village, the people that have prayed for us, for her, and have pointed her to Jesus. I am thankful for a church family that is gospel-centered, Christ-focused, and loves our families well.
I am thankful that God made the gospel so simple that even children can understand.
For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to be its judge, but to be its savior. (John 3:16-17)
But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 19:14)
After she got saved, she told EVERYBODY! If there was a person willing to listen, she was telling them that she asked Jesus into her heart. She was turning cartwheels in the church lobby. Our pastor's wife was the person that counseled with her, and she told me that the first question my sweet girl asked after getting saved was about when she could get baptized.
When we got home, there was still rejoicing going on, and when she finally got somewhat still enough to talk, I asked her to tell me all about it. She told me how she had prayed and asked Jesus to forgive her sins, and how Mrs. Karen had talked with her. Then I asked her if she felt anything when God was talking to her, and she said "oh yeah! My belly was shaking and my heart was beeping real fast!" LOL!
And so, now begins her new life in Christ... a lifetime of discipleship, loving others, and growing.
Rejoicing,
