Setting Up My Bible

When I get a new bible, I have a few things that I do to set it up. While I was doing that, I thought I'd take you along with me!
1. The first thing I do is mark my "share Jesus without fear" verses.
When we were still at Boone's Creek Bible Church, our pastor taught us how to disciple others for Christ. One of the resources we learned how to utilize is the Share Jesus Without Fear method by Bill Fay. This method is super simple and really helped me be more confident when sharing the gospel.
PS - If you are ever in Johnson City, TN drop by BCBC for a visit and tell them Kimberly sent you! Pastor & Mrs. C and our whole church family there are amazing!

2. Next, I put my color coding key in the front.
I thrive on simplicity, so I try to carry that over into my bible studying. My code is simple:
Green - Commandments/Instructions to do
Red - Commandments/instructions to stop/avoid
Blue - Characteristics of God, God's promises, etc.
Pink - Anything female, marriage, or motherhood specific.
Black - Everything else. If something is interesting or stands out to me, but doesn't fall into any of the above categories, I underline it in black.
I simply write these on a post-it note and stick it on the front page of my bible.

3. Then I highlight some of my favorite verses.
I have several verses & passages that mean a lot to me or that I refer to often.
